The Ancient Stillness: Why Yoga Nidra is My Most Profound Practice

I am very grateful to share my knowledge and experience of Yoga Nidra practice during this Sunday, June 21st class dedicated entirely to a practice that holds the most special place in my daily life: Yoga Nidra. When most people think of yoga today, they picture the physical postures, or asanas. However, Yoga Nidra is a profoundly ancient practice that existed long before the yoga postures, that we are so familiar with. Translating to "yogic sleep," it is a deceptively simple yet incredibly powerful state of conscious, deep relaxation that allows us to access and restore the deepest layers of the mind.

My Personal Journey with the Practice

My own relationship with Yoga Nidra began over two decades ago. In 2000, while I was living in Japan, I had the deep blessing of being introduced to this method by authentic yoga masters from India. Their traditional guidance gave me an unshakable foundation in the true essence of the practice.

Since that introduction, I have practiced Yoga Nidra daily, without fail. Through every chapter of my life, during the last twenty-six years, it has remained my constant anchor, friend, and nourishment to my body, mind and soul.

The Most Profound Impact

Over my years of study and teaching, I have explored many facets of yoga and the architecture of the mind. Yet, if I had to choose just one single yoga practice that has had the most profound and lasting effect on me, I would undoubtedly choose Yoga Nidra.

It requires no flexibility, no special equipment, and no physical exertion. You simply lie down, find stillness, and listen. Yet the transformation and healing it facilitates within the mind are very profound.

If you are feeling the need to completely disconnect from the drama of daily life and recharge your vitality, I invite you to experience my complete Yoga Nidra Reset Bundle.
